3.5/5 ★ – TomFaux's review of Epistory - Typing Chronicles.

Video: https://youtu.be/OHqqdi1gT0o Epistory is a typing adventure game with RPG-lite elements. Every enemy/object is a single word, and some words are themed to match the thing it represents. This results in a LOT of synonyms for fire, ice, spark, and wind. Like, a LOT. This also means in order to scale difficulty, words increasingly get longer and harder (oh). It requires a lot more knowledge of proper typing etiquette since you'll probably be typing words you don't know, unlike say, Typing of the Dead. Which is mostly Common words strung to make simple phrases. That gives Typing of the Dead a much more rapid, action feel and Epistory a slower, more thoughtful game. Both are good options, just preferences. That's also where RPG elements come in because you'll use skills to avoid difficult words and only type the easier words. This is probably the best part of the game. Unfortunately, with words you've never seen and the 20th synonym for fire, it does feel a bit repetitive about half way through. But to be fair, so did Typing of the Dead. Solid game, enjoyable for all ages, and I'm excited to see what Nanotale brings to spice up the genre.
