5/5 ★ – Tommy_Babs's review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

It's becoming increasingly more rare that a game sinks it's hooks into me. Whether it be having less free time to play or just feeling less of a drive to play, (is this what getting old is like?) I feel like it's been hard to find something as special as this experience. This game gave me the same childlike glee and wonder as when I booted up FFX at 8 years old on my families Playstation 2. The story does not treat you like a child and the content itself showcases that. It is incredibly grim but so fleshed out that it made me eager to see what the next development in the plot would be. Then there is the music. It is equal parts haunting as it is inspiring. It gave me the same melancholic feeling in my gut as Nier Automata. Overall, this game is something incredibly special. It goes to show that a team of 30 in-house developers and a shoe-string budget can make a Game of The Year if their passion and talent are in the right spot
