5/5 ★ – TwistingStew69's review of Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

This is my Assassin's Creed game. Everything here is so perfect to me. Ezio is an older man who's reached past his prime but is still a formidable warrior and Assassin. A respected mentor who's immediately treated as such as he is without a doubt the best Assassin of the franchise. Istanbul, being the setting, is so beautiful, especially as it's one of my favourite cities I've visited in real life, and the islamic influence and culture within it resonates with me. The story being a culmination of the previous games and tying Altair and Ezios story together is done so incredibly well. Being able to play as Altair and explore the region of AC1 in an updated game is incredible. The modern day story line is weaker here than Brotherhood, but it makes sense for the plot and the arc Desmond goes through. The ending with Ezio talking to Desmond and realising his entire role is to be the one to give the answers rather than find them for himself has to be one of the best moments in gaming history. The gameplay is as fun as always and personally, my favourite of the trilogy. The parkour is smooth, especially with the hook for leaping. The Morale modes and playing around with that like a strategy game is extremely fun and something that should be implemented in another future game. The combat hasn't changed much, but it's still satisfying to play with. The score for the game is top tier, and although AC2 still takes first place, this is a very close second for me. This game is perfect in every way to me. The story is brilliant and ties up Ezios' adventures so well. The romance with Sofia is so beautifully done, and I'm a sucker for that. The pacing is perfect, and the mix of missions makes it more than fun. Unfortunate, that it goes downhill from here, but these 3 games are a big reason I wanted to do this replay of the series, so I'm happy to have them done and now leave them behind. Requiescat in Pace
