4/5 ★ – VacillantBear0's review of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.

On the Wii was a fantastic take on the global soccer tournament, perfectly tailored for the console's unique strengths. Unlike the more realistic and complex versions on other platforms, this game focused on fun, accessible, and fast-paced arcade-style gameplay. The motion controls, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, were intuitive and easy for anyone to pick up and play, making it a perfect title for family gatherings or parties. The inclusion of all 199 national teams and the official stadiums added to the authentic World Cup atmosphere, and the vibrant, stylized graphics gave it a distinct and cheerful look. While its "pick-up-and-play" nature meant it lacked the strategic depth and realism of its HD counterparts, it delivered on its promise of an entertaining and exciting experience. It was a successful example of how a game could be designed from the ground up to fit the specific capabilities and audience of the Wii, offering a memorable and enjoyable way to experience the passion of the World Cup.
