4/5 ★ – Vidmaster26's review of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Honestly, this one is probably the weakest game of the entire Metroid Prime trilogy. This one feels too confusing and unpolished. The new upgrades this game has were pretty cool. I liked the new beams, but found the limited ammo thing with them to be a bit annoying. The screw attack was neat. Exploration feels downgraded here. Especially with the introduction of the dark world which adds to many long loading screens to the game, and with how many times you had to keep switching back and forth, it got old quick. The Aether also wasn’t nearly as interesting as Tallon IV was. Dark Samus did jackshit in this game other than occasionally try to kill you but ultimately fail. Some of the bosses kept moving around too quick and made hitting them with lock on nearly impossible, especially the final boss. Still a great game, it’s Metroid Prime after all, but probably the one in the trilogy I’d recommend the least. Maybe unless you played the Wii version or a remaster comes out.
