2.5/5 ★ – VoidTracks's review of Assassin's Creed.
This game is cursed with being the first in the series. Most of the mechanics are clunky or almost broken. That being said it does benefit from being simple, and having a cohesive style and aesthetic. (Assisted greatly by Jesper Kyd's stellar work on the OST.)
There isn't much more to say about this game other than it clearly a prototype of sorts, and was plagued by development and management issues. I'd recommend just skipping this game entirely unless you are a sick freak like myself and also want to experience the kicking and screaming birth of a legendary IP in all of its drab, jank, and edgy glory.
