dmc1 is overall a fine game, the combat is aight and uhhh I really don’t have a lot of positives to say, the game is alright but I really didn’t care about stuff like the music, characters, the bosses, etc. I even kinda felt confused with the games tone, it’s so all over the place. It goes from a Norse Mythology type of feel to a wacky action movie tone to a dark, isolated feel. I thought the gameplay itself was alright and everything else was forgettable and I feel like RE4’s development is at fault, stuff like the creepy, dark feel and the fixed camera angles made it feel so unlike the action game I’d expect devil may cry to be. The one thing I did really like about this game is the difficulty, it didn’t feel like bullshit most of time and I thought it was really fun at times, too bad a lot of the bosses are repeated a little too much for me to find them fun and unique.
