A Simple Garbage Sorting Game has a message to deliver, and it does it with stunning style. Clearly inspired by the SCP genre and the Portal games, they immerse you in a steadily stranger atmosphere over the course of about an hour of play. I won't reveal much about what actually happens - it is one of those kinds of games.
As for the message itself... They make some compelling and salient points about strategy and approaches to environmental protection along the way, all through quirky and humorous metaphor.
Ultimately though, it feels like they stumble at the last minute with an outdated view that the problems our world faces can be solved just by the small scale adjustments to the lifestyle of everyday people, rather than turning the lens towards the more impactful problems of gross overconsumption of resources, capitalism's obsession with unsustainable growth, and corruption due to the petrochem sector.
For less than a euro though... Their heart is in the right place, and they definitely earned a recommendation from me.
