3.5/5 ★ – Zimtiki's review of Disney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse.

Disney’s Magical Mirror starring Mickey Mouse is a simplex old-timey feeling point and click adventure that recreates an old 1936 Mickey Mouse Short. Essentially, Mickey is lured into his mirror by a soookt ghost and becomes trapped inside after said ghost shatters the mirror. Controlling Mickey as a floating clicker hand, you must help him find the missing mirror pieces. So this game is pretty short, about 3 hours long. But for me? Personally? My opinion? I really enjoyed it. You essentially just get to explore Mickey’s whole mansion looking for secrets and ways forward. It has a very Resident Evil/Luigi’s Mansion sense of progression where you’ll come across something that’s clearly missing, then eventually you’ll come across the solution and be like “YOOO” then rush back to find out you didn’t even grab the right thing, but actually found the solution to a DIFFERENT puzzle. It’s honestly a good, relaxing time. Overall, the game is fun and the story is cute. The biggest issue has to be the cutscenes. They aren’t terrible, but they’re incredibly long and can be REALLY slow moving. They’re fully unskippable, even when replaying a section. But yeah. If you want a very mild spooky game or want to introduce a kid to gaming, this is a great way to do it. Also, uh, fun fact? According to the credits, Shigeru Miyamoto himself was in charge of this game’s development, something I did NOT expect.
