4.5/5 ★ – Zimtiki's review of FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: HELP WANTED.
The series moves on to a format it was MADE for: Virtual Reality. This game is essentially a compilation of the the first four games in the series, along with a few original mini games that are equally as terrifying. This game ALSO acts as a sequel to the original series, as it claims to have been created based on “rumors of old scary stories about the Fazbear restaurants that are ‘entirely fictional.’” This is a clear attempt to cover up the restaurants dark past.
After you’ve played these games in VR, it’s hard to go back. These animatronics up close are so fucking scary, man. They’re MASSIVE and SO intimidating. You even get to fix them up in parts and maintenance, and get way way WAY too close to them, and they’ll KILL you if you fuck it up. It is so tense. You’ll also have to avoid Mangle and Ennard while fixing vents in Vent Repair. This game is so scary that it’s genuinely difficult to get through without throwing the headset at the wall.
The Dreadbear DLC is also awesome, giving us a spooky, Halloweeny atmosphere with even more horrific versions of our beloved animatronic characters, including the Frankenstein Monster version of Freddy, who you must avoid in a Halloweened up version of the original FNAF game. The trick or treating game also SLAPS.
This game is a beautiful addition to the series and is fun as hell to pull out at parties. This is, unironically, one of my favorite VR games of all time.
