3.5/5 ★ – Zimtiki's review of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach - Ruin.

Hmmm… odd…. very odd… Released two years after Security Breach, Ruin changes the rules of the game. While technically being DLC for Security Breach, it’s JUST as long as the original game. After the ending of Security Breach (apparently the canon ending was the one where you had to play all the princess arcade games? The most OBSCURE and DIFFICULT to figure out ending? THAT’S the real ending? Okay), you play as a new young girl character that’s come to the pizzaplex looking for Gregory, who seems to be trapped in the pizzeria calling for her help. The gameplay here is great, and is much more linear than the original game which, honestly making the game WAY spookier. Instead of the Faz-Watch, you have a weird, Rabbit shaped AR mask which clearly belonged to Vanessa while she was brainwashed, and SOMEHOW this mask allows you to MOVE through physical objects. WHAT is going on!? You have to be careful when using the mask though, as a new terrifying Glitchtrap entity will hunt you through the digital world, and the only way to escape him is to take off the mask, which also seems to be fusing itself to your consciousness, making Glitchtrap inescapable. It’s fucked and it’s spooky. As you make your way toward Gregory, it becomes very suspicious and OBVIOUS that this is not Gregory you’re talking to. Rather, it’s one of the horrifying animatronics that attempts to copy you and follow you while you aren’t looking at them, a being that refers to itself as a “Mimic.” In the ending I got, I lured the bastard into a Scooping room reminiscent of the one from Sister Location, where I killed the thing and tore it to shreds. Is that the canon ending? I don’t fucking know. I don’t know if I’ll EVER know but it was satisfying and I liked it, so let’s hope. Anyways, while I’m disappointed that almost no questions were answered, the game was definitely a fun time. This game improved the original game a good amount and I, without a doubt, enjoyed it more.
