3/5 ★ – Zimtiki's review of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is the first game in the FNAF series where you’re free to roam in a first person perspective. You play as Gregory, a young boy (who weirdly resembles the dead kid from FNAF 4….) who is locked in a new facility named Fazbear’s Pizzaplex, a mall/theme park that appears to have been built years and years after the events of Pizzeria Simulator. As you explore the facility, you’re being stalked by a security guard named Vanessa, and new “Glamrock” animatronics consisting of Roxy (a Foxy-like female wolf), Chica (who is fucking obsessed with pizza), and Month Gator, an extremely aggressive alligator that has a silly southern drawl. Freddy, however, is on Gregory’s side and helps him throughout the night, even allowing him to ride in his chest-cavity to avoid detection from the other animatronics. The gameplay is pretty simple, you’re just supposed to explore this mysterious pizzaplex and avoid being caught by animatronics that are constantly stalking and looking for you, which, UNFORTUNATELY, means a lot of this game is just a stealth mission, the most FRUSTRATING kind of mission in a video game aside from escort missions. Luckily, you get a laser gun that can paralyze enemies and allows you to get out of sticky situations. Aside from a few incredible story moments and SUPER intense chase scenes (the daycare section fucked me up, man), the animatronics tend to be buggy and sometimes unfair, where the game will ATTEMPT to surprise you by spawning an enemy around the corner, but sometimes it fails and spawns them where you can see them, killing the immersion. Some of the missions in this game do feel like pure luck, due to some of the animatronics SOMEHOW missing you despite you being in clear sight, OR, somehow SEEING you despite having no line of sight to where you are. And to get one of the good endings, you have to do about 45 minutes of bullshit without saving and it’s TOO HARD. Though I have to say, despite this games bullshit, I still enjoyed it and the world building in this game. It’s a good time, though the bullshit does wear on you after a while. For a single playthrough though? It’s definitely worth it.
