0.5/5 ★ – andykschwartz's review of Two Point Museum.

TLDR Loot boxes kill this game This is such a disappointing game. It started out strong as a management sim. It has good humor and familiar but good mechanics. There are even some unique twists to liven up the museums. (The supernatural museum is secretly a hotel management as you have to care for the ghosts as well as guests.) Unfortunately, level 3 is where I started having problems. As the museum gets bigger, the staff become very bad at their jobs and they require A LOT of micromanagement. Once you add botany exhibits which can die, the exhibits need constant upkeep and the machines break down, but the employees are so bad at their job they keep killing my flowers and breaking my machines permanently! However, the worst part of the game is the loot boxes. The expeditions were kind of fun at first. I did notice it was a bit repetitive as they all work the same way just getting the correct team to send together and then sending them off, just a lot clicking. But that was OK as long as they kept bringing new stuff and the pace was fast. But at level 3, they start to get really hard, requiring the player to find epic versions of the exhibit already collected. These are random and rare, so you have to do the same boring menu hopping over and over. Plus, your employees can die on the missions and the game doesn’t have a log for these, so if an employee dies you have to rehire someone but you may not even know what you need to rehire if you missed it (which I did a lot.) The game stagnated for me at level three and I waited several hours to get the correct epic loot to continue the game. So boring and annoying because of all the fires I had to put out in the mean time. This game belongs among those bad free to play mobile games and should not be a paid game. Too bad because it had such a strong start for me.
