4/5 ★ – apocacrux's review of Darksiders Warmastered Edition.

Having played Castlevania Lords of Shadow before this really helped me appreciate the fluidity of combat in this game, though the environments weren't as beautiful they were also less annoying to explore. It is interesting that two very similar games came out the same year. I know many people compare this to Zelda and I do see that comparison as well, and it's does do that Zelda style of dungeons and puzzles quite well. Combat is a lot of fun between block countering and dodging around enemies while you hack them up then seemlessly finish them off never got boring. Most of the environments were fun to explore though not the prettiest to look at. The Black Throne was a test of my patience though with all those portal puzzles, it was probably the weakest part of the game for me. Though if you like many puzzles then I bet that's some people's favourite dungeon. There were some weird hiccups though, like how it takes 5-10 seconds to display when you get a quest item or artifact. I'd open the check and start walking away before it pops up on the screen. Also, the start of cinematics were always clunky where the camera just pops around quickly before the cutscene starts. Overall a very fun and solid game and I would definitely do a second playthrough now that I can start with the abyssal armour. The story was fairly interesting though dialogue was kind of limited and clunky. If you like Lords of Shadow then I'd recommend this game, despite the more stylized comic-y graphics.
