I absolutely loved the Advance Wars games back on the original GBA releases, so I was excited to get back into them with this remaster. They’re still excellent! The core tactics gameplay is just as engaging as ever, and the upgraded visuals make it a lot more pleasant to look at. The animations look great, there’s impressive attention to detail, and the voice acting is a nice tough (though it’s inconsistently applied, with some dialogue spoken and some not, which felt weirdly arbitrary). My only significant knock is that they really didn’t add anything content-wise to this release, which would’ve been a nice bonus if they’re charging 60 bucks for what, ultimately, are two old (though still great!) games.
