5/5 ★ – asoola's review of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is over and I enjoyed every minute of this game I honestly can say with confidence that this game is a masterpiece. I felt this while playing and maybe it’s because the protagonist is the “Ultimate Detective” but this game especially the cases have this detective vibes more than the other two games if that makes any sense? That aside though, I loved the story from start to finish the story exceeded my expectations and the characters are very well written and they’re very likable with amazing personalities! I was shocked and sad that Kaede is a false protagonist but I did enjoy playing as her I really loved her character and what she offered to the story. Shuichi the actual protagonist gets an amazing character development which is why I think he’s the best protagonist in Danganronpa (after Makoto Naegi of course!) the way his character develops and grows as the story goes on is well done! Protagonists aside I found myself liking characters I wasn’t expecting to like for example K1-B0 or Keebo his character is ten out of ten he really deserves to be called the “Ultimate Hope Robot” I love him so much! I won’t talk about each character because that would take forever but like I said they were really fun characters. Now the story like I said definitely exceeded my expectations especially the plot twist and how everything they experienced is a part of “Danganronpa” a fictional series made for entertainment to the outside world very clever writing, I love how the game explains how just because what they experienced is fictional doesn’t mean what they felt is also fiction! The game (and this is how I personally interpreted everything) explains how fiction does affect reality it can change someone for better or worse as seen when Shuichi convinces the outside world the Killing game is wrong, just because it’s fiction it doesn’t mean it’s meaningless or have no power! Now since the V3 or rather 53 (love the hint in the title by the way) is fictional it’s also mentioned how other Danganronpa games are also fictional events but since Tsumugi Shirogane mentions how she was copying something it led me to believe Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, Ultra Despair Girls, and the anime are real events in the universe and fictional works like the shows that were shown in V3 are based on real events I think! Speaking of Tsumugi she is an interesting character I kinda liked her when her actual identity was revealed I like how she’s written! Anyways I think the case trials and the tricks that were used for the murders were very creative it’s definitely creative writing I think, I enjoyed solving each case also the punishments I think some of them were way more brutal than previous games as expected. That being said I’m gonna miss the Danganronpa universe, characters, the music, and Monokuma very much. I am glad that I experienced this franchise and I am so glad I played V3, Goodbye Danganronpa 👋🏽🩷
