2/5 ★ – att1cus's review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

Having just beaten once again, for the third or fourth time this game as now an adult (I’ve played it a lot on the Wii when I was a kid), I can objectively look back on this mess of a game. I might have an emotional bias since I still had a good time with it this time, but that is due more to nostalgia then actual fun while playing the game. The graphics, well, are decent for the time, especially if you play it on PC or PS3 (the Wii version looks and runs like absolute crap but the controls with the Wii remote are nicer) The voice acting, well pretty mediocre and shitty at times not gonna lie. Except for Rupert Grint, since he voices videogame Ron and his performance is pretty great and matches the movie’s. The sound design is great however and the game’s soundtrack genuinely has good tracks. Not as good as Half Blood Prince’s, but still pretty good. As for the game itself, wow what a piece of shit of a game. The game’s mechanics are so nonsensical, the AI is either too stupid or way too frustrating, the game’s progressiob is atrocious (not the main story levels themselves since these are quite fun, faithful to the movie and are well crafted for the most part, but the fucking parts where you are FORCED to do side-missions that provide ZERO context with the main story and are all the same fucking thing: rescue muggle-borns) The shooting is also very bland and gets annoying and very repetitive towards the end. ALSO, DID I MENTION YOU COULD JUST IGNORE AND WALK PAST ALMOST EVERY ENEMY IN THE GAME AND FINISH IT? So what’s the point? But in the end, I really had fun playing this terrible game and laughed quite a few times at how this is such a shit product. I definitely recommend this if you are a HP fan looking for a shitty, but funny game to play
