I kept hearing that this was good, I like Lyle Wrath, and I'd seen the anime short and really liked it, so I finally got around to this. Turns out, it's great. Who could've guessed. Yeah, yeah, it's a visual novel. But fuck you, it's got decent voice acting and the writing is really good so who cares. First things first, Class of '09 is *actually* funny. Smart, biting, cynical. Jokes that could only be written by someone with this lived experience. They're joking about school shootings, pedophilia, suicide, etc, but it's so well written that they get away with it. That's the other thing, this game never pulls any punches. The world of Class of 09 is exaggerated, but I don't think it's really *that* exaggerated, and watching the main char constantly call it out is very satisfying. It's surprisingly short, but that makes it easy to replay and find new endings. In ~90 mins I went through 4 times and found 3 endings.
