4/5 ★ – blessingjr's review of HITMAN 3.
Hitman 3 is more of what I love from the franchise. It's the tried and true formula pushed even further with awesome levels, new items, and creative ways to tackle objectives.
The new levels are visually stunning, intricately designed, and contain interesting stories and themes. This game often feels like IO at their best. It also feels like IO at their most iterative. Six maps feels limited by the time you complete the game. The last couple of maps took me about 30 minutes each. That said, I feel more compelled now than ever to attempt Contracts and Escalations because this time around the amount of success the game is seeing means that the community involvement for those aspects of the game will feel substantial. So while new original content from IO feels a little lacking, I still foresee myself putting a lot more hours into the game despite having finished the campaign.
All in all, this was a great finale to the World of Assassination trilogy. It's Hitman at its truest. It's rare we see a franchise so well realize what its meant to be, commit to that vision fully, and be allowed to refine that vision over the course of multiple entries. Hitman 3 is exactly that and it's a damn good time because of it.
