5/5 ★ – bobbykickball's review of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land was my personal 2022 GOTY -- this game is such a cozy, cute experience. Kirby was destined for their own Super Mario Odyssey treatment and here it is. This game introduces Kirby's new and very humorous ability to inhale large every objects like cars alongside his suite of returning abilities. These "mouthful mode" transformations, as they're called, might make Kirby look ridiculous, but they feel like nice additions to the franchise rather than a silly gimmick. Every area I visited in the Forgotten Lands was nostalgic and reminiscent of older Kirby titles - some locations whimsical and delightful while others were haunting yet charming. To my surprise and delight, each area was layered with such rich music. Genuinely, this is some of the best music I've heard in a video game in a very long time. There may not be the most complex systems at work here, but I encourage anyone who enjoys 3D platformers, adorable creatures, and relaxed gameplay to go on an adventure through the Forgotten Lands themselves!
