Odyssey is pure joy to play from beginning to end. The power ups, the music, the art style…it’s all just so fun and accessible. The story is about as thin as most Mario games, but it’s still exciting to work your way through. This is the true follow up to Super Mario 64 many wanted and it definitely lives up to the name. There are certain moments throughout my time with the game where I was taken aback that this was in a Mario title. Serious Dark Souls vibes at one moment even. Odyssey is the game I point to when people give Astro Bot (another game I loved) a 10/10…Super Mario Odyssey has everything that game has and more with triple the charm. A must play for all Switch owners.
