4/5 ★ – caleb_mercer's review of Metroid Prime: Trilogy.

I played through all three of the Prime games in the Trilogy release using PrimeHack on Dolphin emulator. I would very heavily recommend this as the games really do feel like they were made to be played with a keyboard and mouse, and there's really not any jank when translating the motion controls to kb&m. About the Trilogy itself, it's pretty great! The first two Prime games work really well with the new control scheme and having all three games in one package is insane value. The only major issue I take with it is that the difficult options given at the beginning of each game are incredibly misleading. I accidentally played through the first two games on "normal" which is actually easy mode in relation to the original Gamecube release difficulty. It literally halves the amount of health and damage enemies have, which is pretty significant. The Trilogy release also adds the spring ball upgrade to the basic morph ball in all three games, which is in theory a great idea but also trivialized a couple of the fights that were dependent on the morph ball in Prime 2. Of course, you always have the option not to use the spring ball so it's a non-issue. The first Metroid Prime game is arguably one of the greatest games ever made. The second Prime game is still absolutely incredible, if not slightly less so than the first. Prime 3 is Prime 3. But like I said, having all three games in one package is insane and being able to play all of them with flawless keyboard and mouse integration on PrimeHack is wonderful. I can't recommend it enough!
