One of the most classic and overlooked games from the 8-bit generation, Phantasy Star is a stellar JRPG with some great visuals by the Master System's standards, engaging combat and exploration, and a surprisingly-compelling world combining traditional high fantasy with science fiction in a way that doesn't feel jarring or weird. The original Phantasy Star was ahead of its time and I actually prefer it to the first four Final Fantasy games.
