3/5 ★ – chickensquasher's review of Destiny 2: Beyond Light - Season of the Hunt.

Uldren Sov is back. But he’s risen as a new Guardian simply named Crow, with no memory of the atrocities performed in his previous life. Unfortunately humanity holds on to grudges like a babe to a mother’s teet, and Crow feels it. As a result he’s been taken in by the Spider, doing odd, yet dangerous jobs for him. One of which concerns scouting the activists of Xivu Arath, sister to Oryx, the Taken King. She’s somewhat of a god of war I guess you could say. Which is where you, the player, join the in on the story. I’ll be honest it was kind of hard for me to stay focused on the story being told on screen. I did find the lore readings to be interesting though. The problem though is that most of the lore I want to read can only be accessed through an exotic mission that can be replayed each week for rerolling stats for the exotic weapon you get. But doing the activity solo is so difficult that I have a hard time finding motivation to go back grind for the story. It also didn’t help that the new activity was kind of boring as well. Simply go to a location, attempt to kill a boss, boss runs away, chase boss, defeat boss, then defeat second boss. The bosses weren’t even that challenging.
