4/5 ★ – clint9smith's review of The Forgotten City.
I finished Forgotten City last week! I think it is the first game my wife has played through to completion with me so that was fun. There were two main things that stood out for me. First, I loved the freedom to try new things because it was so easy to reload a save or time loop. It never felt like high stakes which I liked for a narrative driven game. That's been the barrier for me with Outer Wilds where if you die then it feels like a lot of time wasted to try something again. I also enjoyed the satisfying and realistic reactions from the people in the city when you solve all their problems. It wasn't just an "Oh thanks". They would be completely shocked that you just appeared with the exact thing they needed at the right time. I agree that the game had some fantastic twists that kept everything really fresh. We also made a new game and were able to get the minimalist achievement (looping as few times as possible to finish the canon ending) That in itself was a satisfying puzzle to try to optimize the run using our newfound knowledge about the world.
