4/5 ★ – conmanwilson's review of Sega Bass Fishing.

“Fish!” I don’t really like sports games at all, and especially not fishing games, but Sega Bass Fishing for the Dreamcast is lowkey fire. It’s just arcade-y enough to pick up for five minutes, but just Dreamcast-y enough to give it higher replayability through tournaments and unlockables. After you get over the slight learning curve, it’s a simple, goofy time. It’s decidedly over-the-top for a sport I normally associate with extreme boredom; The rock music is anti-fishing, and the enthusiastic voice acting is downright hilarious. “Oh wow, okay, an average size!” and “That one is huuuuuuge!!!” make me laugh every time. I swear, the terrible voice actor raises the entertainment value of the game tenfold. It’s obviously available on the Dreamcast (with a fishing rod controller lmao,) but it’s also on Steam and Xbox Live for pretty cheap. What a pleasant surprise.
