3/5 ★ – cybrbvlly's review of Fears to Fathom - Woodbury Getaway.

I love the franchise but I can't give it a higher rating because I felt like I was doing QA work. If you maneuver the car wrong and get stuck in the snow it's impossible to get out, so I had to restart the game. It got so bugged that it even changed the language from spanish to english. You also get stuck a couple of times if you open or close a door while standing very close to it. On the other hand, it has many very repetitive dynamics, such as the hide-and-seek game and in my case the jenga (which was the box game I chose), to the point that it felt like it was filling a plot hole. The puzzle to solve the jenga doesn't always respond correctly even if it is correct and completed. As for the story, what makes the franchise unique is that they take real stories and the fears are real fears. As a girl I think I was particularly affected by the idea of being surrounded by men with strange intentions. On the other hand, I imagine that if you're a guy and you don't experience this kind of anxiety about being physically disadvantaged against other men, the game boils down to jumpscares. So I guess it's not a game for everyone. I hope to replay it when the bugs are fixed and live the experience again.
