4.5/5 ★ – dark1905's review of Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

Oh, I am so glad that I have liberated myself from the curse of trophy hunting. Dishonored is the first game I have played on PlayStation in a long time without paying attention to the trophies. And I must say, I haven't had this much fun on the PS5 in a while, and I will probably be playing here more often now. Of course, I may still go for the platinum trophy occasionally, but only if it presents itself naturally. Speaking of Dishonored, it truly is almost a little masterpiece in my eyes. The gameplay is brilliant. Rarely have I experienced playing a stealth game that doesn't have slow, monotonous gameplay. The different approaches offer a high level of difficulty that entices you to try again and again, attempting to complete the game without any kills. The story itself isn't incredibly exceptional, but when combined with the numerous texts that can be discovered and the world design, it immerses you in the gameplay and this thrilling world. The game's duration is also satisfyingly concise, providing even more room for subsequent playthroughs. This is something that was a bit bothersome with games like Elden Ring, for example, where the initial playthrough lasted about 100 hours, and then the New Game+ became uninteresting. Dishonored is truly fantastic, and I am surprised that I have only just played it now, considering it was Arkane's flagship title for years, alongside Prey. Unfortunately, with the recent RedFall debacle, it seems that nothing new will be coming from Arkane for the time being. Fortunately, I can still enjoy the DLCs, the sequel, and the spin-off.
