2.5/5 ★ – djgirard's review of Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind.
Second verse, same as the first
Released at the same time as the previous game, it’s the same game in almost every way but with a different story. My review of “The Missing Heir” covers all my thoughts on Famicom Detective Club so I won’t reiterate those here. “The Girl Who Stands Behind” does differentiate itself with a better story that gripped me earlier and held onto me throughout the end. While the gameplay is the same, I did find myself enjoying this follow-up a bit more than the preceding title.
Best Bits: Nice art and animation | A more intriguing story than the first installment
Worst Bits: Lack of any real gameplay | Too obtuse at times
Played On: Nintendo Switch
