I guess I'm not sure what I expected from a "free playable short"... But this is just a tech demo for the Steam Deck. It's playable on a PC with a controller, but that's obviously not what it was designed for. The whole game only takes maybe 30 minutes to play. And "play" is pretty generous there... There's nothing even remotely challenging about any of it. You just push the indicated buttons and watch what happens. There's a fun story. A couple neat characters. It's hard to get to angry at a "free playable short" that only takes half an hour of your life. I didn't spend any money on it. It didn't consume any significant amount of time. But it still feels underwhelming.
