Shadowrun Returns is an amazing adaptation of my favorite game world. Absolutely beautiful maps... Faithful adaptation of the game rules... Evocative effects and voices... Dramatic models... It all does a wonderful job of re-creating the world of Shadowrun. The only thing is... Shadowrun Returns feels more like a framework for others to build their games atop, than an actual game in itself. Shadowrun Returns ships with a campaign called "Dead Man's Switch" that does a terrific job of introducing the world of Shadowrun... And it's got a good chunk of gameplay to it. And there's actually a good amount of replay-ability with different classes and abilities. But, ultimately, it feels a little short. You can build your own campaigns from within the game... And you can download what others have made through the Workshop... But I'm still kind of waiting for the developer to release some more "official" campaigns.
