3.5/5 ★ – evasglory's review of Harvester.
What a fascinatingly absurd and grotesque game. It falls into many traps that games of its era and style do, but Harvester still delivers a compelling story and mystery while never pulling a single punch, drawing you in with its utter strangeness. Highly recommend, with a walkthrough of course.
EDIT: Originally, this was a 3 star review. However, after some thinking, I don't love games like Harvester as much as I want to because they put in wonky puzzles to make their great story into a mediocre game. Harvester's story and main themes actually rely on it being told in a game, and it uses this to do some pretty interesting things, so it deserves a lot more respect. It still is frustrating and convoluted at times, like I said before, but it's still very deserved of being a game.
