3/5 ★ – farmboy's review of Luigi's Mansion.

Like the best Nintendo games, this is incredibly creative and original. I'm pretty sure Miyamoto played Resident Evil and said, "I can do better." Well, he didn't, but the unlikely marriage of the survival horror classic, ghostbusters, and Super Mario made for something pretty special. It must be said, though, that unlike most Nintendo games, Luigi's Mansion is kind of unpolished. I never really came to like the controls, and there was way too much backtracking towards the end. However, that stuff is pretty easily overlooked when the game has so much personality. When Luigi's tears of joy at the sight of his recently rescued brother turn into belly laughs, I had a huge smile on my face. The eternal second banana finally had his day.
