4.5/5 ★ – farts's review of Battlefield 4.

story is forgettable, no one cares about it, everyone's here for the multiplayer - which is the absolute PEAK of any battlefield title for me. the contemporary setting is what i enjoy the most, compared to the rest of the series, the past (or future) hasn't ever clicked for me. countless memories of gamer moments™, cinematic moments and just general joy of playing this game will stay with me forever. people say BF3 was the peak, but for me, 4 easily clears it, going above and beyond with content offered to you. tons of guns (you'll be using 3), vehicles (you'll be getting pulverized by people whose employment is apparently using these vehicles the entire time you're playing) and maps (you'll end up playing the same 3 that everyone else always votes for) lead to hundreds of hours of playtime. my friends and i somehow always end up back playing this, and if we aren't, we go back sooner or later. there is quite literally nothing else on the market that matches the fun of throwing on BF4 and hopping on siege of shanghai just to sit on the skyscraper for the whole match. oh yeah, frag round shotguns and grenade launchers, gotta love that on metro
