5/5 ★ – felecite's review of Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 2 - Fashion Forward.

This is easily one of my favorite games. I learned about the SS games while desperately searching for something reminiscent of the dress up games on those flash-based websites. Fashion Forward stood out as an oasis in the desert of 3DS games. First off, I love the music, it’s so upbeat and fun. The main objective is pretty simple; make Beaumonde City more fashionable by selling clothes, but everything else beyond that is up to you. I like the freedom of being able to take on activities outside of being a boutique owner. It’s your main job, but you never feel restricted to it. You’re rewarded for your efforts in hairstyling, makeup, and designing not only through unlockables, but in the fun you’ll have doing them. The characters are also very funny and (mostly) memorable. My only complaint is how there’s no option to sell men’s fashion in your store like you could in Trendsetters. You can customize the outfits of male NPCs in the main menu, but even then that feature only becomes available to you upon completing the main campaign. (I want Ricky to come shop at my store) It makes me sad to see how underrated the SS games are and hopefully a future entry on Switch will change that.
