A really excellent remaster that changes very little about the brutal challenge of the base game. The graphics and performance are fantastic (my god is this game better without loading times). The game beautifully preserves the excellent art style of the original while adding all kinds of amazing effects and tweaks. And I could swear there are a few things that felt random and extra cheap in the original - I absolutely mean dragon flames - that feel much more manageable now. Bluepoint even added a few new items for the fans. There's a few quality of life changes I would have enjoyed, but I understand Bluepoint's reluctance to change most things that add difficulty. This is absolutely the best way to play and a fantastic treat for both fans of the original and players who missed out and have been looking for a way to play it. I hope to see other games lost in the annals of PS1-3's lack of backwards compatibility (METAL GEAR) get this treatment too.
