3.5/5 ★ – firstTimer1598's review of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Review for Base game (PC version) You know it's a Metal Gear game when there is - 1. A crazy story dealing with weapons trade, cyborg enhancements and what it means to be human, war and PTSD, multiculturalism and most importantly MEMES and NANOMACHINES. 2. A bunch of crazy and over the top characters, including - the main character who is a PTSD suffering cyborg ninja who is a serial killer, a Brazilian-Japanese ninja who makes fun of him, a robot wolf/dog companion, a Senator who is basically Broly the super Saiyan, and others 3. Weird details, easter eggs and hidden conversations 4. Crazy action where the main character basically sucks the life force of his enemies. However there are some issues with the game such as - 1. The stealth system is just there - as it is a Metal Gear title. But it does not work at all. 2. A terrible xp and rewards system Example 1 - the game liberally awards xp points / currency / items in the early levels. In the later levels the same rewards are poorly and stingily handed out. Example 2 - Raiden, the protagonist, is wearing an outlandish Mexican outfit, and removes it in the next scene before the players take control of him. When one goes to the menu screen, the same outfit has to be unlocked by spending high amount of in-game currency 3. The game also has issues on PC with frame rate and the last boss fight completely unplayable if on doesn't reduce the game' s display resolution. Recommend a game pad, rather than keyboard + mouse as some moves are literally unplayable if using KB+M setup
