3.5/5 ★ – frannybeltoni's review of Anger Foot.
Kind of nails the "hotline Miami formula" of small bite sized levels with new items of clothing unlocked to get new abilities but it's janky in places and in small ways underdeveloped.
My big issue really is that the unlockable shoes never change up much. Most of them make minor changes and the ones that really change stuff up are mostly to a point I couldn't find a use for them or are one of three best pairs and were the main ones I swapped between. The game's challenges do incentivise changing shoes but once all I unlocked I didn't feel compelled to get 3 stars on every level. That's probably due to the janky feel of the game, partially down to issues with the first person perspective and partially down to some technical issues.
This is not a negative review though, the levels are well designed and fun to run through the first time, and many of the challenges do feel engaging and make you play somewhat differently than you normally would. The art style is great and gives the characters and level designs a lot of personality. The humour is strong, and though the story is a little underwhelming it's not a game about the story, it is about great gameplay and that "just one more level" feeling and this game mostly nails that!
I would recommend if you like those kind of action puzzle games like Hotline Miami but know this isn't as high quality, but still solid!
