4.5/5 ★ – gabicus's review of Neva.
Not since Journey have I been reminded of how games can truly be evocative pieces of art. Neva is a feast for the senses with some the best art and music I’ve experienced in a game. It feels like you can take a screenshot at any given moment and it would make killer wallpaper. Where Neva goes beyond Gris, Nomada’s previous game, is in its gameplay. I didn’t expect to say this at all but Neva has one of the best final boss fights of any game I’ve played this year. The combat is simple but so well tuned and you have just enough moves at your disposal to work with. Like Journey, it delivers a really cool narrative without saying any real words. I think this will go down as a hidden gem and hopefully looked back on just as fondly as Journey.
