1.5/5 ★ – gumgy's review of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!.

pretty much a worse game than CSD1 in almost every way pros: - added lots of different foods to learn and experiment with - cook for hire adding a more regimented story-like mode is cool - CSD restaurant customization is cool I guess pro/con?: - each cook for hire level is required to use specific foods, sides, and drinks. some people (like me) may find this fun, others may find it frustrating and limiting. just depends on what type of gameplay experience you're looking for. cons: - way too many chores that pop up way too frequently, taking away from the actual fun part of the game (cooking) - sides and drinks don't add enough depth to be worth the added stress and headache. sides at least increase the wait timer and add a unique mechanic to the game, drinks are pretty much just chores. - added way too many mundane cooking steps to the game (wrapping & foiling burritos, putting covers on blenders, individually cutting sushi rolls 6 times) - you can basically 100% the game and get max level without ever touching the actual Cook Serve Delicious restaurant - no way to change the keybinds of individual food recipes (could be off on this, I couldn't find a way, if there is let me know) - removes the food upgrade system that was so good in CSD1, so the game pretty much starts out on high difficulty (which is fine if you're coming straight from finishing CSD1, not so great if you're starting with CSD2 or if its been a while since you played through CSD1). it's worth a try if you really enjoyed CSD1 - I didn't hate the game or anything, just had enough minor annoyances that popped up over time, and was starting to get genuinely annoyed by the time I got to the end. just make sure that if you try it, be conscious of the steam refund timer. there's no concrete endpoint or credits or anything, but the best endpoints I suppose would be level 100, finishing all cook for hire levels, or getting all achievements. doing any of those takes a considerable amount of time, probably somewhere between 60 and 75 hours. completing everything took me upwards of 125 hours.
