2/5 ★ – hunkypet's review of 50 Cent: BulletProof G-Unit Edition.

The PSP port of 50 Cent: Bulletproof named G-Unit Edition follows all the same story beats but plays like a very different game. It’s no longer a third-person shooter, now it’s a top down shooter/brawler from an isometric point of view. Think of something like Baldur’s Gate but way less fun. This game is infinitely easier to control than its home console counterpart, controls are simple and responsive this time around. Instead this port brings its own set of problems. The camera isn’t fixed and decides to rotate when it feels like it, meaning that you’ll regularly be blinded to the enemies so you’ll have to hold the camera button and then using the d-pad to spin the camera round in the heat of battle. Another issue with the camera is that it’s just ever so slightly to zoomed in, causing enemies to appear in your field of view very suddenly and rush you immediately. Enemies are absolute bullet sponges, and there’s little else to do other than lock on shoot, and move. This creates a very dull gameplay loop and boss battles only intensify this. In the early stages of this game I thought this was going to be a much better experience than the home console version, however by the end this is an equally flawed and unenjoyable experience. It’s by no means a terrible game just a very dull and tiresome one. Played on PSP
