2/5 ★ – hunkypet's review of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

I’m annoyed right now, I had to abandon this game. Not because I wanted to but because I had to for my own sanity. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is a walking simulator and it takes the definition of walking to the extreme. I have never played one before so wasn’t sure what to expect... checking reviews this game is extremely divisive and I can now see why. I’m furious with the developers, they crafted a gorgeous and immersive world only to let them selves down tremendously with the speed that you can walk at. I’m not lying when I say it’s in infuriating. The game is non linear, giving you free reign to go to where ever you like, explore and find more story elements. The problem is these areas are relatively large and take an age to traverse, even worse is that a lot of the story elements are tucked away in side paths that take considerable time to walk to and then you have to do a considerable walk back to the main path. I gritted my teeth and bared with this for nearly 3 hours, I sadly had to call it a day as there was roughly another 2 hours to go and I couldn’t put myself through anymore. I genuinely was intrigued with this games story and wanted to know what happened.. well I guess I wasn’t intrigued enough. Poor, poor decision to limit travel to walking speed. Played on PS4 Pro
