2/5 ★ – hxsnd's review of The Plucky Squire.

The relief I felt when the credits finally started to roll says a lot I bought this bc it looked cute and fun..... Lets just say it was a game Dont get me wrong it WAS cute and I was invested in the story at first but i slowly just did not gaf. I was skipping thru all the dialogue because it just went on and on and on like my godddddd. Whoever wrote this is / are so painfully unfunny. It made me hate how there were unskippable dialogues and cutscenes too Like I get it BUT LET ME SKIP BRUH😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I liked some of the mechanics, parts of it were reminiscent of old school games but majority of the gameplay was so tedious and troublesome, really took me out of the experience and I wanted it to be over I started speedrunning the entire thing about halfway thru because I really didnt care for the characters / story and the collectibles. And i rarely skip collectibles It was fine, just not my cup of tea . Maybe get this on sale when its 90% off . Like i appreciate the effort from the developers but FUCK this was a chore. And it didnt help how i was doing all the work most of the time while the companions just got in my way and took credit for the work I did.
