3/5 ★ – jake84's review of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered.
A so-so remaster in the sense that the signs of aging is really starting to show in this one; Cage's borderline hammy writing and the plot that goes from intriguing into the farcical and supernatural - a thing he would later restrain in the masterpiece Heavy Rain, and then again awkwardly inject into his disappointing Beyond: Two Souls. It's a shame the game never reaches the heights of its own opening, where the intensity and shifting perspectives make for a gripping scene. The Tyler character still seem like a redundant part of the game, and it's hard to overlook the fact that he's a stereotype, albeit most of the characters are, but he's more so than the rest. In the remastered version, nothing has been done do polish the graphics and it is not a pretty experience; it takes some getting used to. But, worst of all, it seems like the controls are worse than ever, and some of the scenes seem more tacked on and ridiculous than before - the main offenders here being an idiotic scene in a church where you're chased by angels and the retarded hide-and-seek flashback. I truly hope that Cage will rediscover his potential in the upcoming Detroit: Become Human, and that we are spared for his love for childhood flashback sequences, off-putting sex scenes, snowy cities, and supernatural elements.
