4/5 ★ – jdraco's review of Flappy Golf 2.

I’m gonna keep this review brief because this is a mobile game and there isn’t really much to discuss But that being said I think that despite this being a mobile game it still is very solid and definitely in the upper echelon of mobile games in general I will point out though that this game does have a shit ton of ads I mean that's really the whole reason that this game has a score of 1.5 at the time of me reviewing it. Because some guy was so frustrated with all the ads that he just gave it 1.5 and said fuck this game Which, I can't blame him to be honest because there are an absolute shit ton of ads, honestly more than I thought an app could ever be capable of To the point where I just had to bite the bullet and spend $2 (I believe) to have them removed After that though it was an actual video game, but before that it’s just a frenzy of ads and it’s very annoying to deal with However, once you get past the ads, the game is quite good Basically you play as a golf ball with wings and you tap the screen left and right to flap the ball in which direction you want to go, with the ultimate goal being to try and get your ball in the hole in as few flaps as possible It’s a very good and simple concept and they manage to keep the game fresh by adding new obstacles and gimmicks for every world Cause this game is split into 29 different world with 9 levels in each world And every world has their own gimmick and their own unique obstacles/hazards/powerups that differentiate them from the other worlds So one world might have lasers that you need to avoid in each level, then another world might have these shields bubbles that you need to use, but then another world might combine both the shields and lasers and then have multiple levels centered around that new concept It’s very well executed in my opinion and there are so many more of these ideas and obstacles that are prevalent in almost every world I mean you’ve got portals, you’ve got magnet fields that repel your ball, you’ve got this pink goo that the ball sticks too, you’ve got acid, gravity strips, buzz saws, there is just so much shit in this game and I didn’t even name all of them in here There’s also some nice completionist shit that you can do in this game For example every world has a certain amount of eggs (which is the currency in this game) that you can find in each level and if you get all of them then you get 10 more eggs and a little emblem that’s displayed above the world on the world selection screen And then you also can find a secret hole hidden in each world called a ghost flag, which if you find that then you get another 10 eggs and another little emblem in the world selection screen that shows that you got the flag It’s very nice and I enjoyed finding all of the ghost flags and getting all the eggs in each world Also once you beat the 29 worlds then you can also go back to each level and try to get “superstars” Which are basically the ultimate prize for beating a level in the least amount of flaps possible And then if you get enough superstars you can unlock 9 more much harder worlds to play, which also all have their own ghost flags and eggs to collect So yeah, it’s very cool and it’s honestly surprising to me how much content this game has to it And I didn’t even mention the online multiplayer which is basically a mode where you get to race against other people to try and get in the hole first in a bunch of randomly selected courses And this mode is pretty fun too and I have some very fond memories of playing this game with a bunch of my friends at my lunch table in freshman year of high school It was the shit And honestly this game is the shit, and the more I talk about it, the more I like it I really don’t even have any major complaints with the game either, except for maybe that the physics with some of the things like the magnets and gravity strips don’t work that well and definitely could've been more well thought out That’s really all I can think of though But as it stands this is definitely one of the best mobile games probably ever made and I also didn’t even mention that this game has a shop where you can purchase skins with all of the eggs that you collect just by playing through the game and also by playing online It’s incredible and to be honest so is this game Flappy Golf 2, again, is just fucking jam packed with content and for a mobile game that’s available on the same app store that features My Talking Angela, it’s very impressive And I know that I said I was gonna keep this review brief, but I really didn’t realize how much there was to say about this game, and I think that I kinda convinced myself by talking about this game so much to give it a higher score then I initially was So with that all being said I’m gonna give this game, a 4/5
