2.5/5 ★ – jdraco's review of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter.

There really isn’t much for me to say about this game Because at the end of the day, this is 𝓹𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓽𝔂 𝓶𝓾𝓬𝓱 the exact same game as the original Marvel Super Heroes However, I gave “pretty much” a different font because this game did actually make some changes and improvements that definitely put it over the original for me And for starters, the roster in this game is definitely better Instead of having only a few Marvel characters, like in the original Now you’ve got a few Marvel characters... And a few Street Fighter characters So it all balances out and creates a pretty good roster However, I will say that I’m kind of sad Psylocke isn’t in this game There was just something about her in the last game that was so... magnetizing, and her presence is definitely missed in this game Luckily though this game has Chun-Li to kind of fill that void, so again, it all balances out One thing I like about this game too, that I think is pretty unique, is that you select 2 characters instead of 1 to fight as a duo against another duo of characters It’s actually a really good idea, and you can get some wacky ass combinations of characters You can pair up Spider-Man and Zangief, Wolverine and Akuma, or Shuma-Gorath paired with literally anyone. Yeah, I’m not really sure why he’s still in the game Either way though, again, I do think the duo's are a cool idea, and it can really come in handy to just be able to swap to the other fighter if you’re getting fucked up I mean, I never figured out how to do it because it’s some stupid ass button input that they don’t tell you how to do But the thought is definitely there And speaking of the controls too, they are pretty much just as bad as the original game, but for some reason in this one I feel like I played a little bit better And I don’t know if it was because I started to learn the controls or if it was because playing on easy (which still isn’t even that easy) Probably though it was because I was using Cyclops, who’s easily the best character in the game for me My duo of Cyclops and Ryu were absolutely tearing shit up; they were borderline unstoppable If you had seen my gameplay, you would’ve thought you were watching Kobe & Shaq in their primes The Ryu and Cyclops duo was deadly Shifting back to controls for a second though, I just want to point out something that I don’t like about this game and that I don't like about a lot of fighting games in general I fucking hate how you have to push backward on the control stick in order to block an attack It is so fucking stupid Because in fighting games, you constantly have to move towards your enemy in order to hit them So why the fuck would they make you push the control stick in the opposite direction in order to defend yourself I just hate it so much, and I really might be the only person in the galaxy who has a problem with it, but I just can’t get over how stupid it is, and I hate that it stuck and fighting games today still use it But yeah, shifting back to the review, I'd say the controls and gameplay are really my only big flaws with this game And in this game, compared to the first one, they weren’t even that bad for me I mean, I wouldn’t really call them good, but they were serviceable And so is this game It’s not that great. But it’s also not that bad It’s just serviceable It’s one of those games that you play once, say to yourself, “That was okay,” and then probably never touch it again But still, with that being said, again, it definitely is still better than the original game, and it added some really solid new ideas So I’m going to give this game, a 2.5/5 *If they kept Psylocke, it would’ve been a 3*
