Even as someone looking forward to this game, I found this to be a pleasant surprise from start to finish. Not only does Indiana Jones and the Great Circle nail the tone and feeling of Indiana Jones in its writing, performances, and cutscenes, but in its gameplay design, too. I love that this isn't just an Uncharted clone (as much as I love Uncharted), and I appreciate that the game nails the whacky improvisation and silly violence of the movies through its gameplay systems. Bonking someone on the head with a shovel never gets old. Add on a shockingly long runtime (it took me nearly 30 hours to beat while doing a good amount of the side stuff), gorgeous visuals, and a genuinely good story, and the result is one of the best licensed games ever made.
