4/5 ★ – jonospark's review of Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl.
Overall, I found Etrian Odyssey Untold to be an enjoyable experience. You play Etrian Odyssey for the labyrinths, the flexible party combinations, and the emergent storytelling. The game's story mode tries to mix it up by giving you a set (and balanced) party, and give you more direct exposition on top of the regular labyrinth events. The party is pretty solid, although it lacks some variety -- you get 2 physical DPS / support hybrids, magic DPS, tank, healer (although there is a blue magic-like system that allows you to mix and match skills). The story is serviceable too, although I prefer the pure emergent storytelling of what I've played in 4. Fortunately, you still have Classic mode, which allows you do make your own party and go through the usual experience. I don't recommend this games as your first EO, but it's worth checking out once you have some experience under your belt. Just play Classic mode, and go with the flow.
