3/5 ★ – jorymurphy's review of Bravely Default II.
The misleadingly-titled third official entry of the Bravely Default series is potentially its worst. While its final act is nowhere near as obnoxious as the original Bravely Default's, it still manages to way-overstay its welcome, but without treating the player to nearly as much of the whimsical fourth-wall breaking that made Bravely Default and Bravely Second so charming. The gameplay is still the excellent Final Fantasy V Job System with the series's signature Brave/Default mechanic, but Bravely Default II doesn't really add anything of value that wasn't there for the 2012 original release. The character-specific costumes for each Job are super fun, and making ridiculously broken Job builds is a blast, but the bland story is a bit too much of slog for me to strongly recommend this.
