4.5/5 ★ – josipher's review of Hades II.

Hades II is a phenomenal time, as I’m sure no one doubted it would be. The things you love are back, and there’s more than twice as much content as the previous game. The mystery of the story of what happened to the previous cast is intriguing, and combat has a different spin so that it’s not just more of the same. Personally, I enjoyed Zagreus’s playstyle more, but that’s not to say Melione isn’t as fun. With the addition of magic, you can get some truly broken builds going. Boss encounters also don’t take nearly as long, with the long stretches of invulnerability removed. This game was near perfect, but unfortunately I’m just not satisfied with the ending. It feels undeserved, with Chronos not going through nearly the same development as Hades did. An unfortunate note to end on, but I think it’s worth to note just how important that final bow you wrap on a gift is. An amazing game nonetheless.
